Sermon Series and Study During Lent “Christ Is for Us” Begins March 1st
Based on April Yamasaki’s book Christ Is for Us, this sermon series offers comfort and hope for the Lenten Season. In the season of Lent, as we reflect on Jesus’ journey to the cross, we can be rest assured that his life, death, and resurrection are for us – for the woman who anointed him; for Judas who betrayed him; for the disciples who ran; for Peter who denied him; for the priests who accused him; for Barabbas who was released in his place; for Pilate who condemned him to death; for his mother and others lamenting at the cross; for the soldiers who gambled for his clothes; for the crowds and scholars and prostitutes and tax collectors; and for all of us today whatever our age and situation in life. God sent God’s one and only Son for the world as Savior, Emmanuel, God who is with us – to save us and make us whole. Christ is for us! Thanks be to God!
The sermon series includes a 5-week study based on the sermon texts on Thursday evenings beginning March 5th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Join us for Communion, a simple meal, and a brief discussion on the sermon text(s). No book or study in advance is necessary. Please complete the sign-up form below or on the Welcome Table in the Narthex.
