Andrew Chapel's 150 Year History

Don Ellison had compiled, authored, and edited the 1st and 2nd editions of the “Andrew Chapel's 150 Year History (1854-2004)” Book a few years ago, with special credit to Ann his wonderful wife of 63 years for her help in organizing and compiling this document. Due to the depletion of that supply, the 2nd edition of the book will be reprinted at a cost of $20 per book. If anyone in the congregation is interested in having his/her own copy please preorder your copies by 10 November 2011 by contacting Don Ellison at 703-938-3325 or e-mail him at: dnae.1@juno.com.

Andrew Chapel
Communication
Andrew Chapel has adopted a new way of sharing communications.
A weekly email will be
sent to get up-to-date information into our hands. Weekly sermon and a
monthly calendar of events at Andrew
Chapel will still be posted on the website.
Please inform the church office if you want to receive the print version by mail.
If you have information that needs to be included in an email or mailing, please email
or send that to the church office at office@andrewchapelumc.org. |

3, 130 cans and counting
|
 |
It was time for the Andrew Chapel Youth sponsored Souper Bowl of Caring. This past Sunday, February 5th and throughout the past week the Andrew Chapel congregation and community brought over 3130 cans to feed the hungry. This year we had the added motivation through the generous sacrifice of our Intern and Youth Leader, Will Waller and Pastor Morris who agreed to have their heads shaved if the can and donation amount was double and triple the amount of 2011, respectively. That's 830 and 1245 cans! We made it and most importantly we made a difference to those in need! 3130+ cans!

LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR MIND AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL
– Matthew 22:37
FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE WILL BE YOUR HEART ALSO
– Matthew 6:21

IT’S BEGUN! Sunday, November 6 marked the kickoff of our 2012 stewardship opportunity and, by now, everyone should have received a letter about it. If you didn’t, please let Allison Combes know – we certainly don’t want to leave anybody out!
2011 has been a good year, especially if everyone is able to fulfill their pledges by December 31, and 2012 will be even better thanks to all of you! As you may have seen on one of the bulletin boards in the hallway, we have a large empty heart – the visual representation of our theme. Let’s work on getting our “heart” filled by December 4 so that we can look forward to next year full of confidence that we can do even more of God’s work both within our walls and out in our community. Thank you!!
