Jesus calls us to love our neighbor as ourself.
Courageous Conversation
Even though we are one of the wealthiest counties in the U.S., over 15,000 of our neighbors here in northern Fairfax County live in poverty, and wherever there is poverty, there is hunger. Our next Courageous Conversation event will be with Ramona Carroll from the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services to help us understand more about hunger needs right here in Vienna. Together we’ll talk about why people in this area are hungry, and what more we can be doing as a congregation and individuals to help our neighbors. She will also give us more insight on our Cunningham Park neighbors that we have been serving through our mobile food pantry.
Hands on Blessing Bag Packing
After our discussion, we will pack enhanced blessing bags with food, socks, personal care supplies and other items of need. All supplies for the packing event will be provided, just show up. Participants are invited to take bags with them to hand out to those in need.
