Cultivating Fruitfulness
Each year we ask our members to complete an estimate of giving card as we make plans for our ministry in the coming year. These cards serve two purposes. On a personal level, the process of considering what your offerings will be for the coming year can be a time to reflect on the blessings God has given you and an opportunity to recommit to loving God with your heads, hearts and hands. On a practical level, the estimates of giving enable our Finance Committee to accurately set ministry budgets for the coming year and make the most of the resources committed to God's work through us. We are investing in God’s vision and purpose, and creating an opportunity for God to work through us to change lives in our church, our community and our world.
However, increasing consumer debt, declines in savings, an unstable housing market, and a volatile stock market are all contributing to economic insecurity. We live in a society that tells us “you deserve it now,” whether or not we can afford it or really even need it.We’ve all struggled with these issues at one time or another. In the sermons listed below, we explore what the Bible teaches us about cultivating fruitfulness.
